Easter Extravaganza
I hosted my first Easter Dinner last week. Actually, it was my first time hosting any Holiday Dinner for my family. For anyone that knows me, this is actually a big deal for me. Yes, I can plan weddings and host events, but hosting a dinner is quite different: it involves cooking. I am not a chef. I am not a cook. And I can barely bake to boot. Ironic, because for someone who loves to eat, cooking has never been my strong suit.
However, if I didn’t host Easter for my family, there wasn’t going to be a family celebration. So, I bit the bullet and figured it was the celebration and not the food that mattered. After a few frantic days of trying to find recipes that I felt I could cook and sending out emails to my small extended family on my mom’s side and a close family friend, Easter came, I survived, and fell asleep sewing at the late hour of 6pm.
