Spring Has Sprung

Spring is here and I could not be more ready for it. Winter in Michigan is always tough for me: the wedding season is over and I seem to wilt without the sunshine. Thankfully, this year I got go on a few international sunny holidays and I had a January wedding to keep me focused on a task. That being said, I am so glad that spring has arrived. I’ve been spending more time outside, soaking in the sunshine, and getting my hands dirty. This will be the second year that I will be transforming more of the garden into a cutting garden, and I’m eager to start digging. Since the last frost has not yet come and gone, it means I can really only clean up the beds and cut back old growth. But guys, the time is coming and I can not wait to show you what is in the works over here! Until then, here is what’s popping up so far!

Sneak Peek: Nautical Style Shoot

April 11
Coastal Adventures in Holland, Michigan

Back in the spring, I planned my first wedding style shoot at the wonderful Wizard of Oz Manor. It was a wonderful learning experience and labor of love, and I am excited with how out turned out.

After seeing the gorgeous manor, I knew I had to play up the nautical style, but with a slight twist. In my desire for something different, I drew upon the masculinity of the home and the old world charm it evoked.

A big thank you to all the vendors who brought so much expertise and talent to make this style shoot a wonderful and successful day.

Stay tuned, because this style shoot will be featured on Midwest Bride!

Anthony and Jessica

December 14, 2013

I truly believe that winter weddings can be just as magical as summer weddings. Last December, which seems like forever ago, I had the pleasure of being a part of Anthony and Jessica’s winter wedding. . Jessica and Anthony’s wedding had so many beautiful elements to it, from the dried flowers arrangements to the pretty aubergine bridesmaids dresses, each detail was lovingly thought out. Mix in some breakfast for dinner, an ooey gooey cinnamon roll cake, and you have a wedding that if fun and rustic, with at touch of campy (Jessica and Anthony met at camp, the same camp I worked at many years ago). Add in a touch of sparkling winter white snow, and you have the most magical of weddings.
